We have new housings now, and are currently making new VIDLEDs. The new housings are made from Aluminum, and are VERY nice.
Dimensions and look are similar.
We can start shipping units by February!

Check out our sample MOVIE CLIPS to get an idea of the difference between the lights, warmLED and coolLED. Our design allows the STANDARD series of lights to be bolted together. When using a warmLED and a coolLED together, you'd have a VARIABLE COLOR TEMPERATURE LIGHT FIXTURE!! Remember, these movie clips were shot in a completely darkened room without ANY additional lighting! Again, check it out on the MOVIE SAMPLE pages.
VIDLED lights use 52 specialty LEDs ideal for on-camera and off-camera use. Use them for any light application (key, fill, bounce, etc.); for consumers and prosumers and professionals who appreciate a low-heat emitting, low power consuming and lightweight light source.
The "cool whites" use super bright LEDs and are brighter than the warm white LEDs. The brightest light in this series is therefore the STANDARD 40°, in cool white. It can be effectively color corrected using a 1/2 CTO or FULL CTO.All lights are only 5.5x2x1.6" (142x50x41mm) and weigh about 8.6 oz (245 grams) for standard, and 11.5 oz (335 grams) for deluxe series
All these lights are completely dimmable with a single-turn potentiometer from approx. 10% to 100%.
Our standard LED Series consists of small, low cost and dimmable LED on-camera video lights. We offer this series with several choices "whites"; available as 3000K (warm white), 5600K (daylight) and 8000K (cool white). The lights offer an even and pleasing light pattern. The dayLED uses a COMBINATION of warm and cool LEDs to give a mixture of the two color temperatures. An addition of a diffusion gel helps to further even/smooth the beam.
These lights do not contain a power supply (battery), but require you to supply your own source of power (regular 2.1mm inlet [middle is positive].
Our deluxe LED Series lights INCLUDE a li-ion battery pack INSIDE THE HOUSING, that will power the light for about 1hr and 30 minutes on full power. It then needs to be recharged with the included charger. Charge time is about 1hr and 20 minutes from empty.
An LCD will let you know how much charge the battery is holding. This is a VERY convenient using, as it doesn't rely on ANY external power source (battery, etc. ) to operate, but runs on its INTERNAL battery pack. The disadvantage is that there is limited space inside the VIDLED housing, so the battery pack is only big enough to run the light for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. But that's on FULL power; running the light at a lower power setting, will increase the run time of course.
Note 1: Our flash shoe adapters are made according to a common size specification. However, not all cameras adhere to this standard unfortunately. Apparently the SONY Z1U has smaller shoe mount dimensions; to use our lights with this camera, a specially machined Shoe Mount Adapter is required. Look for it under SPECIAL OPTIONS.
